Malibu Beach Wedding at The Sunset

Known for its Mediterranean climate, scenic beauty, and gorgeous beaches, Malibu is where Brenda & Christian tied the knot late May of 2017! Malibu's coast stretches 27 miles from La Tuna Canyon on the southeast to Point Mugu in Ventura County on the northwest. It is beyond beautiful.

When Brenda reached out to me and asked me to be her and Christian's wedding photographer I was beyond excited. Number one, Malibu is always gorgeous. Number two, I have always wanted to shoot a wedding on the beach. YAY!

I met this awesome couple at El Matador beach in Malibu for Bride & Groom portraits, then soon headed over to the ceremony site which was at THE SUNSET on Westward Beach in Malibu. This wedding is unlike any wedding I have photographed because a very special SURPRISE element. Brenda & Christian did not tell any of their guest's that they where getting married. Their guests thought they where all going to dinner, so when everyone arrived, they were given invitations to the wedding and instead of heading into the restaurant like they thought they would, they where then walking down the isle taking their seats for the wedding. How cool is that?

I can think back to how I felt the moment Brenda walked down the isle. The look on Christians face was priceless , the crowd was in awe and Brenda's eyes began to water. In that moment, I felt so blessed to not only capture and document someones big day but to personally be there and feel the connection in the crowd with the couple.
