Knapps Castle Engagement | Santa Barbara, Ca

What an awesome opportunity to shoot at Knapps Castle in the Santa Ynez Mountains, right above Santa Barbara. Knapps Castle is privately-owned landmark ruined mansion in the Los Padres National Forest. The ridge-top site has a panoramic view of the stunning landscape which includes Lake Cachumaand the Santa Ynez Valley. George Owen Knapp, built Knapp's Castle shortly after purchasing the 160-acre property in 1916. The mansion was destroyed by a forest fire in 1940, and now only the massive sandstone foundations remain intact.
What an incredible place to shoot at right? The ruined mansion was incredible and surrounded by gorgeous backdrop. However, my amazing couple embraced such harsh conditions for incredible photos. It was around 50 degrees and beyond windy. We stayed for about 45 minutes and decided to leave and head to the Santa Barbara Court House because it was just too cold. They did awesome! I think they are top models because you can't even see how cold they are!
I absolutely loved shooting with these two! They are seriously so cute and so perfect for each other. This makes my job easy! ;) I am looking forward to shooting their wedding in May! Luckily, for us, it will be a gorgeous SUNNY beach wedding in warmer weather! :) haha!
So excited to share these images with you all! Make sure to like, share and even drop some love notes <3
best,
